Taproot was started to help meet the modern & realistic needs of dogs and their humans in the Madison area. These realities include limited time.
We believe in PARTNERING with clients & focusing on the strengths they possess and delivering training that is efficient and cost-effective. And, we believe in PARTNERING with other animal & dog-related businesses.
About the Owner
Laura is a native from Pennsylvania and has spent time living & working on the West Coast before moving to Madison 20 years ago. She is a fellow pet parent and has also raised over 100 neonate foster kittens, most of whom were high-risk/near death singletons. She as a Master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology.
As a nationally Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Laura owns both North Paw Dog Daycare & Taproot Dog Training.
An actively involved business owner, Laura is on site daily at North Paw and teaches Taproot classes on the weekend.
Laura is an active member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, earned her training certification from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers through which she furthers her continuing education studies. Laura abides by LIMA standards.
Laura has always had a special fondness for Yorkies & kittens!
